May Bank Holiday Weekend May 1st, 2nd & 3rd “From Wales to the World” From Portugal to Poland...... Scotland to South Africa...... our main gala event of the year has an international theme.We’re celebrating how the small railways of Porthmadog showed the way for others around the world.An intensive two train service will feature visiting locomotives and some of our own home-based fleet, as well as exhibits and events at all three stations along the line. Children go FREE if they bring a teddy bear to the railway.See if you can spot the bears hiding the Big Shed and win a prize.Watch out for Biggles the mischievous bear, who’ll be riding on the train.
July 3rd & 4th – Steam in the Sheds
Over a hundred very small steam engines will be on display and working in the Engine Sheds.Some are so tiny they can almost fit into your hand!Many of them will be working to show the power and magic of steam, whatever the size.There’s also chance to have a ride behind a small steam engine on our miniature railway during the weekend.

Who cares if it rains over the Bank Holiday?We’ve organised a special fun weekend, including chance to win a prize if you find the Welsh Dragons hiding in the Engine Sheds.Children’s author Alan Cliff will be at Porthmadog (WHR) station signing copies of his books about the adventures of Jack, the friendly station cat.
Saturday 30th October - Hallowe’en
There’ll be spooky goings on as the good witch tries to stop the bad witch from taking over the railway.Dare you join the ghost train after dark to see who wins?This evening of entertainment includes food in the tea room.
