Very nice, a warm welcome from all staff concerned. (Mrs Coley, North Yorkshire)
Places To Eat
There's no shortage of nice places to eat in Porthmadog and further afield.
Here are some we like...... Any comments or half-baked attempt at a review relate only to the time we were there, so don't blame us if we happened to roll up when the chef was having an off day.
The Grapevine Bistro, Porthmadog. It's run by one of our members. But the food is really nice, and our Chairman is often seen having breakfast there. In the evening, someone always seems to end up ordering either "Oink Oink Chicken" or curly fries, or both.
The Union Inn, Tremadog. Really friendly service and nice food in generous portions. The Union Burger is legendary, but the sausage and mash is a big favourite too. Don't forget the extensive specials board......
The Golden Fleece, Tremadog. Look out for the wacko bar which seems to be in the cellar. Gets really busy on summer evenings, but worth it if you can find space. Bistro at the back is also good.
Cemlyn Tea Shop, Harlech. The Welsh Rarebit is highly recommended, as is the view from the terrace at the back. Pick a nice day and look out over the castle, the mountains and the blue sea.
