The Welsh Highland Heritage Railway is one of the friendliest railways in the business.
We have a good laugh and we don't take ourselves too seriously. But we also operate a safe and successful tourist attraction, and we need people to help us.
Join us as an active volunteer or support us from a distance as a member - it's up to you. Volunteering
Whether you're a skilled engineer, enjoy hacking away at undergrowth or just like talking to people you have something to offer the railway. You may even want to help to keep this website up to date!

Membership
The railway is operated by the Welsh Highland Railway Ltd., a democratic member owned charity.

We currently have over 1,000 members from as near as Pen-y-Mount and as far Thailand who support our work. Some are regular volunteers, who live down the road and never leave the place... others call in once or twice a year to see how we're doing... some haven't ever been to Porthmadog.
Members get free travel on our trains and can keep update to date with what's happening at the railway with regular editions of "The Journal" magazine and e-mail news reports. They also have the chance to attend and vote at the company AGM and to stand for election as a Board member.
