No one seems to know just why there are so few hotels and guest houses in Porthmadog itself. But there's plenty within a short distance, including loads in Criccieth. Here's a few places that we've made contact with......
Treforris,Porthmadog. Also known as "Mrs Dickinson's" It's right at the top of Porthmadog, looking down on the town, with spectacular views over the mountains. Very reasonably priced, but no en suite rooms. Sadly, she hasn't got a website, but you can always call 01766 512853.
Godre'r Graig, Tremadog, B&B run by Evelyne, a friend of one of our long term members. Only a few minutes from our railway.
Abereistedd, Criccieth. The publicity says you'll get a warm welcome and weonderful views. No-one from the railway has stayed there yet, but the views are definitely good.
Bodlondeb Hotel, Criccieth. Their website makes them sound very friendly.
Gwynfryn Farm Cottages, Llanbedr. Gorgeous old farmhouse run by a cheerful woman called Clare.
Min-y-Gaer, Criccieth. Run by a friend of our tea room manager.
