Our Shop

The shop is one of the busiest places on the railway, but the people there don't take themselves too seriously.

Books

Look out for the clock which tells the time backwards, and see what happens when you ask for a ticket for someone over 60......

If you hear a train close to hand, look upwards!  It's not the 13:00 about to leave without you - unless you are 2 inches tall.  A model version of our railway runs around the top of the shelves.  Find the controls amongst the books to make it go and keep an eye out for Ivor and Jones the Steam as they bust out of the tunnel!

The shop is where you buy tickets for the train ride.  It also sells gifts, toys, souvenirs, Welsh confectionery, Thomas the Tank Engine stuff and Ivor the engine things.  You can even have your own engine driver's hat or guard's whistle.

We also have one of the biggest selections of railway books in the country, with up to a thousand titles in stock at any one time.  You can also browse them online by visiting railwaybookshop.co.uk, our new virtual bookshop.

Our stock of model railway equipment is also expanding, including Bachmann, Dapol, Wills, Ratio, Parkside, Peco, Coopercraft and Metcalfe.

On hot days, there's a fridge full of cold drinks and an even bigger freezer full of ice cream.
